New Guidance: How Donors Can Help During the Global COVID-19 Pandemic

On May 5, 2020, #GivingTuesdayNow is mobilizing GivingTuesday’s global reach to help leaders, partners, communities, and individuals meet urgent needs in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic. The needs are huge, but you can help.

The Center for High Impact Philanthropy (CHIP) at Penn’s School of Social Policy & Practice has published COVID-19 Pandemic: How Can I Help?, special online guidance for giving and grantmaking during the COVID-19 pandemic and economic crisis. Based on CHIP’s more than 13 years of analyzing high impact philanthropy in disasters and beyond, the online toolkit includes:

  • Strategies for effective giving and grantmaking
  • The most urgent needs to address now (health, food, safe shelter, and local information)
  • Nonprofits to give to

We are still in the initial stage of this crisis, and recovery will take a long time. Over the next months, CHIP will continue to publish resources for emerging needs and solutions for this health and economic crisis.

You can make a difference for individuals, families, and communities affected by COVID-19 and the economic impacts. Visit the toolkit to find out how to help this #GivingTuesdayNow and for months to come:
