Experts list most helpful charities in Mercer area (NJ.com)

As people rush today to make last-minute tax-deductible charitable contributions before 2011 ends, philanthropy experts urge them to help organizations that will make particularly good use of their dollars, such as nonprofit organizations in Mercer County that focus on community health.
The organizations the experts recommend include those that provide emergency food, encourage reading, or educate pregnant young women, according to the Center for High Impact Philanthropy at the University of Pennsylvania.
