Kate Barrett is a Project Manager and Analyst at the Center for High Impact Philanthropy, where she currently manages a project to understand how philanthropic capital can improve teacher quality in the U.S. Kate brings to the Center her passion for increasing the impact of social programs and closing gaps in access to healthcare and education.
Prior to joining the Center, Kate was a Business Analyst for McKinsey & Company in their New Jersey Office for three years. During her time at McKinsey, Kate worked in both the private and nonprofit sectors, serving clients in the insurance, consumer packaged goods, and healthcare industries. Towards the end of her tenure, she focused on issues of nonprofit strategy and general human resource management. Kate was a leadership fellow with the McKinsey North America Women’s Initiative, and spent a year helping to develop a leadership model targeted at women, with the ultimate goal of increasing the number of female leaders worldwide.
Kate received her BA in Community Health from Brown University in 2006, where she focused her studies on behavioral health and health education.
