Hilary Rhodes is a Research Fellow at the Center for High Impact Philanthropy. In this role, Hilary will launch the Center’s work in identifying areas where private philanthropy is well positioned to make a difference in K-12 urban education. Prior to joining the Center, Hilary attended the Pardee RAND Graduate School in Santa Monica, California, where she earned a PhD in Policy Analysis. Hilary’s dissertation focused on research related to promoting student engagement in high school.
While at RAND, Hilary worked as a doctoral fellow on a variety of education, health and civil justice projects, including research related to the implementation of No Child Left Behind in three California school districts. Hilary also worked independently as a consultant to the Santa Monica Malibu School District evaluating the high school’s structural redesign into small learning communities. Her experience prior to her time at RAND includes research positions with the Center for the Study of Services and Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations, new product development for Capital One, and corporate strategy analysis for the Corporate Executive Board.
In addition to her PhD, Hilary holds an MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science in Gender Relations, and a BS summa cum laude from Washington and Lee.
